That last one is epic. Love the clouds and shadow-creature.
Person's head is kinda weird, like, what angle is their head pointing?

these are miles further compared to the previous pages, the still life with the blue ball is evidence enough

youre building your painting confidence and youre expressing through sheer spots of color more now, where before it seemed like you were working more inwards from an original outline, idk

thats 50%, the other half is the tone selections, the first two have really great perfect complimentary colors and that adds to the whole feel

these just have less tones, less transition, and thus more contrast. this makes them more dynamic and makes it so an actual confidence comes off the actual painting

good shit, just keep this in sight and keep actively moving in this direction, i cant paint but i can see what i think is good, and damn its impressive how quickly you put ground inbetween your first paintings and these lastest

man your paintings are so smooth, something about them makes them look real edible too. i really dig the bold chunks of shadow, and pretty much everything about it. and to be honest, you're improving a helluva lot man. sorry if i don't have any crits, 'cause i really don't. very stylistic strokes man. beautiful work zach

thank you, I tried to onion'ize it as much as I could, I think I'm still a little off on the values, but so is everything else in this..

Zack, that looks amazing! The cloth has had some very nice attention given to it. I think the wine bottle in the background, particularly the yellowy bottom thing, could use some more love, to match up with everything else on there. As you said, it's essentially done, but if I were you I would render the bottle a little more, it looks a little flat right now.

yeah I know what you mean about it looking flat, i think most of it is due to the photo, because it doesn't look that flat when I look at it..
yeah there's a couple more things to work out, like the overall light, and some other things need more modeling, like the grapes, leaves, the bucket on the left, and some other stuff..

    Hey dude

    this is a nice painting.
next time I want to see you work with edges more. having the full array of super crisp edges and ghostly suggestions brings out so much in the subject.
If you can id recommend to set up your own small still lives for studying, even simple single object ones. by a couple of months time you'll have a complete series that you could even sell and get some $$$ with!

I know I'm going to setup a studio somewhere in my basement and start doing a bunch of still life and portrait work

I need to start making some dough with this stuff so I don't have to slave drive my ass to a job that could go to someone else that really needs it

this is weird but can you give a little biography? im curious about where you're living or if you're in school right now or what your plans for art are.

this is gorgeous man. inspiration to want to paint. no crits, but if i'd have to say something, the jug feels like it's receding behind the wine bottle, which i'm guessing is due to it's cool color palette. i love this piece

    ret-

I'm almost 20 years of age, the beginning of a new decade..
I hate college, I just want to be doing art, not studying for algebra..
I enjoy the writing though, that's always good for ya
I wish I read more.. maybe I should invent a time stopper..
I want to learn all there is about art
I want to live happily, with art in my heart
I want to move to somewhere warm, all the time, most likely beachy

even though I hate my life.. but whatever
