Alternate version of my current avatar. The only difference is the outline, I'm sort of indecisive about which is better.

Heres some art I did for a licensed mobile game of which i was replaced by another artist:

Splash screen before the title was added.

I might've posted this before somewhere. Not my best work.

    Octopus.

Horribly unfinished swim animation. I think it could've turned out alright if I stuck to it, but akuna mutata you know? Classic example.

Here's some commissioned portaits I did. Please keep in mind that the client insisted that stay absolutely true to the style of the other sprites so there wpuld be no style clash with the other portaits. So, if anything critique me on my ability to match the shitty style they insisted I work with.

Reference I was forced to use:

Edit: My girlfriend just texted me a pic of her poking her stomach with that drawing on it. It kind of looks like a mushroom when you flip it upside-down.

Yeah Xion, that was a bitch. Do you think I matched the style well enough though anyway?

and thanks, my girlfrind is my new favorite canvas. she has the perfect body for it too.

I had an idea for texture.
Was looking through my scraps folder, and found an old image i could experiment with.

I thought the texture on the skin was interesting.
    I might explore this further

David & I killed some time in OC

Me on the left, David on the right all the way down. We didn't really finish much but it was fun

I did a portrait of David, he did one of me and etc.

Ooo nice mock up Xion. The animations look really fluid too. Though, I think you should maybe refine the readability of the character itself. because as of right now, its hard to make out certain details. Just a thought.

But yeah, I think you're definitely at the point where you could start working on higher profile games if you wanted to.

I... uhm... decided to dust off my tablet..

Xion: Nice, although I think there's room for improvement in your color-choices. The lack of certain mid-tones sometimes comes at the cost of definition and readability... and variation, personally I like me some plasticity and multilayeredness. Also, some of the saturation-devolution within the ramps/resulting contrast issues doesn't work too well for me.

Haha, I love that last one, gnarf

    thanks Joshua and Mia,
    but Mia, do you mean:
-with so few colors be careful what you detail
-and the red on the enemies is way fecking saturated
also not sure what you mean by "plasticity and multilayeredness."

    thanks xion

made another one while on the train ride home

a lot less readable, just more practice with type.

    it reads
they will kick you until you are down
they will kick you when you're down
    so obey
and the rest is that easy mmmmmm...

Gnarf, I like that one too, I could read it fine, but the only thing that doesn't really work for me is the so sharing the "o" with Obey. It just throws things off. sobey.

No reason at all to feel intimidated felipe, that's pretty badass man. Although I cant tell are his legs supposed to be going down in perspective or did he just have a really bad day?

yeah man, i really like that too, it's imaginative without distorting the anatomy too much, which isn't even a bad thing to begin with.

and thanks mia, believe it or not, you're a big inspiration to me

thanks!! when I made it I was thinking of the guy who appeared on the movie kids on the subway and had no legs, he doesnt have any legs.
I must say I get inspiration from all of the things I get to see on punaji, even the logo, and colors of the forum.
