(it looks like one boot is bigger than the other on the last two. And is that his thumb on the underside of the machete?)Q: is the name jack in any way inspired by Jack and the Beanstalk? I mean, beanstalk = planting things, Jack = defeating monsters, ventures into dangerous territory = gaining great wealth, etc. See the parallels?

That is supposed to be his thumb, but I don't know why. After I drew it, I was trying to replicate that, and while possible, it's really uncomfortable. I need to make some adjustments to his right boot, but I'm not sure how much the size will change. I'm to the point where I'm getting nervous erasing things.
As for the name, it's really just taken from Harvest Moon; also, I like it. Maybe they were looking at Jack and the Beanstalk, but I always just thought it was the nickname of the most generic name around and so that's why they went with it.

i think the boot's fine, i'm all for a lack of symmetry. it makes the piece, honestly. really cool character design, man.

woah snap, down to the words and everything. i thought his shirt was grey-blue or something...
their shirt has that overused-shirt-typeface, therefor it sucks. continue!
