So I just got myself some Netflix, and I've been all about movies lately. Just wanted to share some gems/steal yours, and write snooty reviews.

Some of the most recently watched:

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - Really fantastic movie. The POV gets a little tiring at times, but it's quite effective. I definitely shed a ton of tears throughout the whole thing. Oh, and it wasn't until afterwards that I figured out it was based on the true story of Jean-Dominique Bauby. It just made the whole thing so much more intense. 9 stars.

Spellbound - Exciting documentary about the National Spelling Bee, although it seems paradoxical to use the words 'exciting' and 'spelling bee' in one sentence. The editing was really well-done, and the story was very engaging. Basically, it chronicles the journey of 8 kids who are competing the spelling bee, showing us their study habits, families, environments, etc. 8 stars.

    More l8er.
    Do share yours.

The diving bell and the butterfly is an excellent movie, the direction is FUCKING AMAZING. One of the best movies i have seen in my life. The visual aberrations shown at the beginning of the movie (when he wakes up) were spectacular.

Smart People - God, this movie was so aggravating. Dennis Quaid badly portrays a grumbly old professor who falls in love with one of his old students. I couldn't even watch the whole thing; I think I made it through about 45 minutes before I gave up. 0 stars.

I just finished watching Stay. Such a good movie. It really does a great job of sucking you into the story.

I watched Meet the Robinson's (again), Bridge to Terabithia, and Underdog yesterday. Wow, Bridge was way depressing. Wasn't expecting that. Well I kind of was but still. And I (still) like Meet the Robinson's muchly. Awesome movie.

Ratatouille <3 So cute and clever. Plus I like being able to recognize stuff from work, as I work in a kitchen. Like all the pots and pans that are exactly like the ones I've used, the speed racks, the walk in, the hierarchy and duties of each level of it.

And the warping effect with the flashback blew my mind hole.

I got all five seasons of Six Feet Under. I've been watching them religiously. Simply fantastic, nothing but good things to say about it. I hope others here have seen it as well. :D

    In Bruges is good.

    Human Nature is silly.

3:10 to Yuma no way deserves its 8/10 at imdb.

I can't remember In Bruges very well, as I saw it months ago on a 15 inch tv that was at the perfect angle for glare from approximately 10 feet away, but the little that I do remember, I liked. The atmosphere was so twisted. Like "Little town of Bruges has a vile underbelly" kind of twisted.

The Lookout, I could have lived without seeing.

So I watched Brick again. Which should be required to view.

just saw brick, it was pretty good i liked it, the dialouge and all seemed like it would be easy for it to be corny, but the actors really sold it for me really well actually, id like to watch it again in a few weeks

in bruges was OK, but very predictable, good movie to get drunk watching but not a good movie at all to smoke weed to or to watch high. the only part about it i really liked was how it had tourism advertisements all throughout it, and as funded on some city money, with key locations being monuments and shit, it was mad cheesy tho

the biggest thing i hated in In Bruges was colin ferrel's character, way too forced and trite and fake. its a standard token "quirky indie movie OCD character" role, and those roles are some of the most annoying for me. Especially an actor like colin ferrel or like brad pitt or something trying to be all "boo hoo im so unique for the sake of it", eughck!
