Oh.
What are you watching?

Sword of the Stranger -
AAAUUUGH. Holy shit this movie is incredible. Awesome animation, awesome fights, characters, loved everything about it. I'm spasming from the raditude. -
Damn, I just watched the marijuana portion of Botany of Desire. It's a PBS program based on a book of the same name. Immensely fascinating.
-
-
"im gonna eat coolranch dorittos drink chocolate milk and watch never ending story" SO FUCKING RAD
-
Wow... that was epically moving. Like... I'm actually blown away by it right now.
-
-
that's so awesome!!*
*xxoxooxoxoxox
-
I just watched 1987's Labyrinth and loved it. Jim Henson rules.
-
i still gotta see that.
speaking of which, can you guys recommend some epic adventure movies? things like the mummy, clash of the titans, conan, jurassic park, etc. i tried searching for lists, but they're all written by movie buffs who don't appreciate a corny line or two.
-
I don't know if it's an epic, but The Warriors is always good stuff.
WARRIORS...COME OUT TO PLAY-AY! WARRIORS!
-
gnarf: Titan AE if you haven't already seen it. I would recommend you do, since it's Disney and pretty epic adventure-y. Labyrinth is also epic, adventure filled, and SO 80's.
-
i tip my hat fellas, titan AE was epic. i loved it. i'm working on...acquiring...labyrinth and the warriors.
-
Yeah labyrinth kicks ass, Jim Henson did excellent on that one. Check out Brain Dead if you want to watch a movie that keeps you guessing til the end.
-
Humans from early Pixar films are so fucking creepy looking.
-
haha, like the baby in tin toy, very creepy.
and thanks zuo, i'll check that out
-
Have you acquired The Warriors yet?
-
i have...not. it seems on my path to acquisition of the warriors, mcaffee blocked it and gave me a warning. i'm ready to smash my hard drive and run for the hills.
-
Genius Party was a bit underwhelming. Only really liked 3/7 of the shorts, two of which I'd seen before on youtube, one of which was the intro sequence. Happy Machine is still my favorite. May have liked Doorbell if it had a different style or something. Augh, the eyes. The noses.
Gonna try to find Genius Party Beyond now.
Edit: Watched Tekkon Kinkreet again today. <3
Gonna tackle The Secret of Kells and The Secret of Nimh this weekend. -
went to see where the wild things are yesterday, great movie really enjoyed it.
-
Really? I saw it in theaters and was pretty disappointed, to be honest.
-
i just enjoyed the movie as a whole but yeah some parts of the plot left me wondering like how the fuck did he get there. How come you didn't like it? do you prefer the book? I might try reading it.
-
My main concern was that it was trying too hard to appeal to two different audiences: children and the indie kids, at the same time. It just created this movie that was often too tragic and overly-dramatic for children, and too kiddish and juvenile for near-adults.
-
The box, I love Richard Kelly and his cheap sci-fi. The movie got my creative juices flowing when I finished watching it, as much as Southland Tales did.
Awesome.

Oh man i totally interpreted that in a different way i felt more like it didn't seem to have a target audience like old movies when they just made them for the sake of making movies.

Just got back from Avatar. Loved it. It was like fuckin' Pocahantas meets the Matrix in the best way possible. The one chick's avatar looked weird because they didn't change her human nose but that's like my only complaint. Well there are some other ones but they're really really minor and really really few and slightly spoilerish.
-
Pocahontas meets the matrix lool!
Avatar was amazing, the CGI and sound design was outstanding!
-
Finally got around to Secret of Kells and Secret of Nimh.
Kells was real awesome. Loved the style of everything, without exception. Real gorgeous stuff. The only thing that kinda bugged me was the lip synching seemed a little off at times. Otherwise hot shit. Thought it was a little short, but I think that about everything.
Nimh was off the hook. Magnificent animation. I was kind of expecting more of a climax though. More adversity to befall our heroes. Some more drama. It could have gone on another half hour or so, easily. Some characters I expected to take on a larger role didn't.
Getting The Triplets of Belleville now. Saw the end of it a couple years ago late one night on TV, one of those real high channels. Had never heard of it prior, blew me the fuck away. Look forward to seeing it from the start, fully awake.

cool but...um, should you be posting those here?
